We’re working with Unity Builders to fix up a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house in High Point that will be used for transitional housing for families it is providing housing services to. Unity already has a family ready to move in, but the house needs some repair work done first. 

• Repairing some flooring and putting down some new linoleum and carpet
• Repairing holes in some walls and painting every room in the house
• Replacing light fixtures and light switches
• Replacing kitchen cabinets and sink
• Replacing bathroom fixtures
• Replacing some spindles on front porch railing
• Painting front porch
• Painting exterior woodwork
• Scraping and painting windows
• Replacing window screens
• Landscaping

We’re also looking for donated items. The full list is here, but items include electrical supplies (outlets, switches, vanity lights, etc.), plumbing supplies (bath sink, kitchen sink, faucets, etc.), hardware (mini blinds, towel bars, shelving, etc.), appliances (small refrigerator, stove, hot water tank, etc.), flooring supplies (carpet, linoleum) and supplies for the exterior (storm doors, step stones, landscaping). And of course we always need paint, and plenty of it.

To volunteer people can call or email the PTAA office. Please indicate what kind of work you can or are willing to do, especially if you have an expertise like plumbing or electrical. To donate items or money to purchase items please contact PTAA and we’ll help you get it done.
